Walking in Paro Taktsang "Tiger Nest" : Bhutan (Jun'18) - Day 4 1

Paro Taktsang “Tiger Nest”

Can you see there on top. Just going to start the hiking to Paro Taktsang called “Tiger Nest”. We have to hike at least 2-3 hours to reach that temple. Paro Taktsang also known as the Taktsang Palphug Monastery and the Tiger’s Nest, is a prominent Himalayan Buddhist sacred site and the temple complex is located in the cliff side of the upper Paro valley in Bhutan.

The hike to Taktsang would take us around two and half hours. To reach a cafeteria, a point from where one can enjoy a great view of the monastery is more than an hour walk from the road-head uphill. Those interested can walk further 45 minutes uphill to get a closer view of the monastery and return to the cafeteria for lunch. The journey downward to the road-head would take us less than one and half hours.
