Walking in Tanah Lot Temple & Ubud : Bali, Indonesia (Dec’18) - Day 2 1

My Walking Story : Happy New Year 2019

Today I am going to narrate my second day of Bali trip after New Year (1st Jan’19), I woke up late in the morning after the late-night celebration of New Year. Around 10 am in the morning I had my breakfast after getting fresh. My plan of the day was to visit Tanah Lot Temple, other temples were far away from my place and visiting over there was like spending my day traveling only.

So, I decided to visit Tanah Lot Temple, and it was 30kms away from my hotel, so I took my motorbike and with the help of Google map move ahead on the path. In my previous stories, one knows that I love driving, so basically, I was enjoying the ride. During the ride I was observing all lovely side views passing by, feeling the cool breeze, seeing every place, shops, local people, people work activities, and feeling good.

Mostly, I enjoyed the journey of 30 kms of traveling until I finally reach the place. Before lunchtime, I reach over there and the temple was awesome, I got mesmerized by the view, it was damn beautiful surrounding the sea. One can see the pictures I have clicked on my blog. Further, I would like to add a few words to this temple.

Tanah Lot Temple

Tanah lot is Located on a beautiful offshore rock in Tabanan regency, Bali, Tanah Lot or ‘Land on the Sea’ is a Hindu shrine believed to be about 500 years old and a perfectly fit name for its unique offshore settings. Pura Tanah Lot is one of the most iconic sea temples of Bali.

There are seven temples built on the south-west coast of Bali, of which Tanah lot is the most popular. The temple is perched on a large offshore rock. The constant waves crashing on the rock, spectacular panoramic views of the ocean. Inside the temple area, you can just walk throughout plus explore its photogenic surroundings. Although popular for its sunset scene, one can also try coming at early in the morning, so that there will be fewer people and a higher chance to have a peaceful image of the temple.

There are also numerous temples that one can tour around Tanah Lot. Tanah Lot Temple is one of Bali’s most important landmarks, famed for its unique offshore setting and sunset backdrops. The temple is in the Beraban village of the Tabanan regency. It is home to the ancient Hindu pilgrimage temple Pura Tanah Lot, a popular tourist and cultural icon for photography. The Tanah Lot temple was built and has been a part of Balinese mythology for centuries. The temple is one of seven sea temples around the Balinese coast.

I have clicked numerous pictures of the path, temple inside-outside, eating corn, etc. I was literally enjoying the calm and soul-soothing atmosphere of the temple. While exploring the place it was lunchtime, so I had my lunch over there only, as there were many restaurants available along with the market. I had tasty lunch at one of the restaurants and till I was done with my lunch, it was 3 pm of the afternoon and while returning to Bali where my hotel was, it takes 5 pm of the evening.

Dinner at Warung Siam Ubud (Thai Restaurant)

After reaching the hotel I went into my room and took some rest after a long drive, while it was raining in the evening, not heavily but a few drops of rain which can wet the surroundings. But I reached at hotel before its rain.  So, I took a power nap, so that I can enjoy my evening as well. I woke at 7 pm in the evening and was thinking for dinner.

I thought of having Thai dinner, as I want to experience the taste of Thailand food in Indonesia. I had tried Indian food, Indonesian food and it’s time to taste Thai food. I search on the internet for a nearby famous restaurant and I went there. It was a walking distance from my hotel and the name of the restaurant was Warung Siam Ubud (Thai Restaurant).

After getting ready I went towards the restaurant by walking and enjoying the weather. I reached at 8 pm over there, I love the authentic Thai food of the restaurant and the taste and presentation was awesome, while the restaurant was small and cosy around the city centre. After done with my dinner I went out to roam as I was in the central area only, I explore the market and club, enjoyed local drinks and some eatery. I spend a few quality times in the club and interacted with the local people. At 11 am in the night I came back to the hotel and had a tight sleep after enjoying a lovely day. This was the end of second day at Bali, hope you like it!
