On December 30, 2023, I embarked on an unforgettable journey to Ba Na Hills, a renowned mountain resort near Da Nang, Vietnam.

My trip to central Vietnam wouldn’t have been complete without visiting Ba Na Hills Da Nang. I took a day trip to this famous mountain resort, enjoyed the breathtaking cable car ride, walked across the Golden Bridge, and spent the day exploring its attractions.

 

Day 4 – Travel Memories in Da Nang, Vietnam

  1. Early morning around 9 am ride the motorbike from the Star City Riverside Hotel to Ba Na Hills parking
  2. Walked from the parking to the Ba Na Hills cable car station
  3. Enjoyed a 20-minute cable car journey toward Ba Na Hills
  4. A long walk around Ba Na Hills sights and had Lotteria chicken
  5. Enjoyed a buffet lunch at Ba Na Hills
  6. Enjoyed a 10-minute cable car journey to Golden Bridge, Ba Na Hills
  7. Walked on Golden Bridge, Ba Na Hills
  8. 15-minute cable car journey from Golden Bridge to  Ba Na Hills Entry point
  9. In the evening back to the hotel in Da Nang
  10. Indian dinner at Bhojan in Da Nang

Morning Ascent

Starting my day at 9:00 AM, I rode a motorbike from the Star City Riverside Hotel to the Ba Na Hills parking area. The crisp morning air and scenic views set a delightful tone for the adventure ahead. After parking, I proceeded to the cable car station, eager to experience the ascent.

The cable car ride was mesmerizing, offering panoramic vistas of lush forests and mist-covered mountains. Spanning approximately 20 minutes, this journey is part of one of the world’s longest and most complex cable car systems, a testament to modern engineering marvels

Ba Na Hills Cable Car Experience

The highlight was the cable car ride. It felt like flying above the mountains and forests. The ride itself is an experience, and I could see waterfalls and valleys along the way.

 

Tips for Visiting Ba Na Hills Da Nang

Buy your tickets in advance to save time.

Go early in the morning for fewer crowds.

Carry a light jacket as the weather can be cooler.

Don’t miss the Golden Bridge photo spots.

Plan at least 5–6 hours to explore comfortably.

Upon arrival, I was greeted by the enchanting ambiance of Ba Na Hills, reminiscent of a medieval French village. The cobblestone streets, Gothic-style architecture, and the cool mountain climate created an otherworldly experience.

I wandered through the French Village, marveling at its intricate design, and visited the Linh Ung Pagoda, which houses a towering white Buddha statue, exuding serenity amidst the bustling resort. The meticulously maintained gardens, adorned with vibrant flowers and whimsical sculptures, added to the fairy-tale atmosphere.

Walking on the Golden Bridge Ba Na Hills

A highlight of the trip was visiting the iconic Golden Bridge, held aloft by colossal stone hands. This architectural masterpiece, perched at 1,400 meters above sea level, offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Walking along the bridge felt surreal, as if stepping into a fantasy realm.

After a day filled with exploration, I took a 15-minute cable car ride back to the base, reflecting on the day’s experiences. Returning to Da Nang, I concluded the evening with a delightful Indian dinner at Bhojan, appreciating the rich flavors and warm hospitality.
