I visited Bali, Indonesia on 30th December 2018 to celebrate new year eve. During this trip I stayed in Ubud for 4 nights.
Ubud is in many ways Bali’s cultural heart. It’s in the cool mountains, just an hour’s drive north of the airport. This traditional country town is home to one of Bali’s royal families. Ubud is also well known as a flourishing crafts centre. The surrounding Ubud District’s rainforest and terraced rice paddies, dotted with Hindu temples and shrines, are among Bali’s most famous landscapes.
Visited Nuwara Eliya @ 16th December 2018 and spent one night.
Nuwara Eliya is a city in the tea country hills of central Sri Lanka. The naturally landscaped Hakgala Botanical Gardens displays roses and tree ferns, and shelters monkeys and blue magpies. Nearby Seetha Amman Temple, a colorful Hindu shrine, is decorated with religious figures.
This is the perfect shot I got at Rambodha Water Fall near Nuwara Eliya. If you are planning to visit here then spend at least half day. You will be experiencing hiking to Water Fall as well as good views. There is entrance ticket as well.
Visited Kandy @ 15th December 2018 and spent one night.
Kandy is a large city in central Sri Lanka. It’s set on a plateau surrounded by mountains, which are home to tea plantations and biodiverse rainforest. The city’s heart is scenic Kandy Lake (Bogambara Lake), which is popular for strolling.
Visited Negombo @ 15th Decemeber 2018 on the way to Kandy.
Negombo is a city on the west coast of Sri Lanka, north of the capital, Colombo. Near the waterfront, the remains of the 17th-century Dutch Fort now house a prison. Negombo Lagoon, lined with fishermen’s huts, feeds into the Dutch-era Hamilton Canal. The canal leads south to Colombo. Neoclassical St. Mary’s Church, completed in the 1920s, features a ceiling decorated with vivid religious paintings.
Visited Sri Lanka from 13th Dec – 17th Dec and 2 days we spent in Colombo city. Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka, has a long history as a port on ancient east-west trade routes, ruled successively by the Portuguese, Dutch and British. That heritage is reflected in its its architecture, mixing colonial buildings with high-rises and shopping malls.
Attended a cousin (Abhishek) marriage on 16th Nov’18 in Saharanpur . I visited this city after 10 years. Saharanpur is located in North India. Saharanpur city grew in a region named after a Sufi Saint Shah Haroon Chishti. It was founded by Sah Ranbirsingh, a Jain nobleman, who laid the foundations of the present-day city on the site of an army cantonment.
