14th November 2020 / On Diwali Day, I visited Phahurat road for shopping and lunch and then an evening prayer, and lightning, and celebrated Diwali in Bangkok, Thailand.
Diwali Celebration & Shopping in Bangkok
Lunch and Diwali Shopping at
Phahurat Road, Bangkok
4 November 2020 — I stepped out onto Phahurat Road, the heart of Bangkok’s “Little India“, with a head full of festive excitement. The air buzzed with anticipation—not from tourists, but from local Indian‑Thai families preparing for Diwali evening. The glow of flickering oil lamps (diyas), colorful rangoli patterns at shop doorways, and the scent of spices immediately transported me into a world of light and tradition.

Evening Prayer & Lighting Lamps
As dusk approached, I joined a small group at a local temple shrine to offer prayers and light diyas, seeking blessings from Ganesha and Lakshmi. The evening ritual held a profound quiet joy—watching each lamp glow in unison created a soft tapestry of light across the courtyard and nearby shops.
