My Gero Onsen Town Japan travel experience was calm and refreshing. Known as one of Japan’s top hot spring towns, Gero Onsen offered me a glimpse into local culture, traditional streets, and relaxing onsen baths that felt like a step back in time.

We left Nagoya after breakfast, checking out of our accommodation and heading toward the station. Our train, the JR Hida limited-express, departed at 10:48 a.m. with reserved seats — a welcome comfort as we settled in for the ride. Roughly 1.5 hours later, at 12:27 p.m., we arrived at Gero Station.

The moment we landed in Nagoya, our hearts felt light — like the start of a new chapter.
