I’ve been going to this open gym for 5+ years.

Pricing is beautifully dangerous: 20 THB/day or 1000 THB/year. Choose wisely.. 🤭😁

Songkran Festival in Bangkok was something I had seen online many times—but experiencing it in real life during Songkran 2023 was completely different. What looks like fun water fights on Instagram is actually a deeply cultural celebration mixed with joy, chaos, respect, and human connection. This was my first time witnessing Thailand’s New Year festival on the streets of Bangkok during the Songkran Festival Bangkok, and it left a much deeper impression than I expected.

15th April 2023 / During the Thai New Year holidays, I stayed in Bangkok to enjoy the Songkran festival. The next day I visited Chachoengsao City near Bangkok.

The vibrant atmosphere of the Songkran Festival Bangkok truly captivated me during my stay.

On Day 4 of our journey, we embarked on a half-day excursion to the illustrious Wat Arun Temple in Bangkok, Thailand, during July 2022. This iconic landmark, renowned for its stunning architecture and rich cultural significance, offered an enlightening glimpse into the country’s spiritual heritage. Our visit was marked by a profound appreciation for the intricate designs and serene ambiance that characterize this remarkable site. Overall, the experience was both enriching and memorable, contributing significantly to our understanding of Thailand’s historical and cultural landscape. In July 2022, I embarked on a half-day excursion to Wat Arun, the iconic “Temple of Dawn,” situated along the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok. Despite the sweltering heat, the temple’s intricate architecture and serene ambiance made the visit truly memorable.

Wat Arun Temple, Bangkok

Wat Arun, officially known as Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan, is a prominent Buddhist temple located in the Bangkok Yai district. The temple’s name is derived from Aruṇa, the Hindu god representing the radiations of the rising sun. Its central prang, symbolizing Mount Meru from Hindu cosmology, is flanked by satellite prangs dedicated to Phra Phai, the wind god.

On day 2 we explored Grand Palace, then lunch at Indian Restaurant. In the evening we spent time at IconSiam near the riverside and evening party again at Cheap Charlie Bar.

The Bangkok Grand Palace is Thailand’s most iconic landmark, known for its stunning architecture and sacred temples. This travel guide covers tickets, dress code, timings, and everything you need to know before your visit.

About the Bangkok Grand Palace

On the second day of our Bangkok adventure, we immersed ourselves in the city’s rich cultural tapestry, starting with a visit to the Grand Palace. Established in 1782, this expansive complex not only served as the royal residence but also housed government offices and the revered Temple of the Emerald Buddha. Spanning 218,000 square meters and encircled by walls stretching 1,900 meters, the palace stands as a testament to Thailand’s architectural grandeur. Originally, the royal seat was in Thonburi, on the Chao Phraya River’s west bank. However, King Rama I, upon ascending the throne, deemed it unsuitable and commissioned the construction of this new capital on the river’s opposite side.
