In October 2024, I embarked on a memorable journey through Jaipur, India’s Pink City, immersing myself in its rich history, vibrant culture, and architectural marvels.
Day 2 – Travel Memories in Jaipur, India

Morning at The City Palace, Jaipur
My day began with a visit to the City Palace, a sprawling complex established in 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. The palace’s courtyards and intricate buildings, showcasing a blend of Rajput, Mughal, and European architectural styles, narrate tales of Jaipur’s regal past. The Chandra Mahal, a seven-story structure still inhabited by the royal family, and the Mubarak Mahal, now a textile museum, were particularly captivating.
In October 2024, I discover the rich heritage of Jaipur with visits to Amer Fort, Jaigarh Fort, Hawa Mahal, and a cultural evening at Chokhi Dhani. Experience Rajasthan’s royal past, vibrant culture, and stunning architecture.

My adventure began with a stay at the Umaid Mahal – Bani Park Hotel, a beautifully restored 18th-century heritage property. The hotel’s intricate décor and special glass artwork provided a regal ambiance, setting the tone for my explorations.
In November 2023, I embarked on a journey from Dehradun to Delhi Airport, marking the conclusion of a memorable trip.
I took a Dehradun to Delhi road trip to catch my flight from Delhi Airport. The journey was filled with smooth highways, roadside dhabas, and scenic views of the countryside. Even though it was a regular airport transfer, it turned into a memorable travel story.
Day 9 & 10 – Dehradun to Delhi Airport, India
- After breakfast around 11 am, we started our journey from Dehradun to Delhi airport
- Stop by Cheetal Grand Restaurant for lunch
- Reached the airport in the evening around 6 PM
- Early check-in, but we found the Indigo flight was delayed for 2-3 hours
- Shopping, Dinner, and party at the Delhi airport
- Our flight departs at almost midnight
- Reached Bangkok early morning around 6 am.
Morning Departure from Dehradun
After a hearty breakfast around 11 AM, I began my journey from Dehradun to Delhi Airport. The road distance is approximately 240 kilometers, and the journey typically takes around 5–6 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions.
Lunch at Cheetal Grand
During the drive, I stopped at Cheetal Grand Restaurant for lunch. This popular roadside eatery is known for its clean facilities and a variety of North Indian dishes, making it a convenient and comfortable stop for travelers.

In November 2023, we embarked on a memorable two-day journey to Rishikesh, India, accompanied by my brother’s family. Situated approximately an hour’s drive from Dehradun, Rishikesh is renowned for its spiritual ambiance, yoga retreats, and the majestic Ganges River.
Day 7 & 8 – Things to do in Rishikesh, India
- A short trip to Rishikesh. This city is near Dehradun. Just 1 Hour drive.
- Around noon started the journey from Dehradun to Rishikesh with my brother’s family.
- Lunch at Rishikesh
- Checkin at the hotel Hill Top Swiss Cottage in Rishikesh
- Visited Ganga Aarti at Shatrughan Ghat
- Walk around Ram Jhula market for shopping, drink street tea
- Dinner and party at Pink Cafe Bar & Restaurant (just 100 meters from the hotel)
- The next morning delicious breakfast at Swiss Garden (just 100 meters from the hotel)
- Visited Ram Jhula, temples & Parmarth Niketan Ashram
- Back to Dehradun and had lunch at Haldiram, Rajpur Road
- Enjoyed shopping at Pacific mall, Dehradun
At Hill Top Swiss Cottage in Rishikesh
In November 2023, during my visit to Dehradun, We had the opportunity to experience a blend of spirituality, local culture, and modern leisure.
During my time in Uttarakhand, I visited Nunawala Gurudwara Dehradun, a peaceful Sikh temple where I felt a sense of calm and devotion. After the spiritual visit, I explored the city further and stopped for a meal at Chili’s Dehradun, blending both cultural and modern experiences into my travel story.
Day 5 – Things to do in Dehradun, India
- Visited Nunawala Gurudwara near Dehtadun
- Had a delicious food “Lungar” at Nunawala Gurudwara
- Then visited our friends and family’s homes for tea
- In the evening visited Pacific Mall, Dehradun
- Enjoyed drinks and dinner at Chili’s American Bar & Grill Restaurant in Pacific Mall, Dehradun
- Then drive towards Mussoorie road
- Drink coffee at Eltham Bakery & Coffee House
My Visit to Nunawala Gurudwara Dehradun
My day began with a visit to Nunawala Gurudwara, a serene Sikh place of worship near Dehradun. The peaceful ambiance and the community’s warmth provided a profound spiritual experience. After the prayers, I partook in the ‘Langar,’ a traditional communal meal offered to all visitors, regardless of background. The simple yet flavorful food was a testament to the Gurudwara’s hospitality.
In November 2023, I returned to my hometown of Dehradun, India, to celebrate Diwali with my family. The festivities began with Choti Diwali, where we adorned our home with traditional decorations and illuminated it with diyas, symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness. The vibrant markets of Dehradun were abuzz with activity, offering a plethora of festive items that added to the excitement of the season.

Diwali Celebration Starts in Dehradun
In November 2023, I embarked on a memorable journey to India, with the first two days dedicated to exploring the vibrant city of Delhi. This trip was part of a 10-day adventure that also included visits to Dehradun and Rishikesh, coinciding with the Diwali festival.
From 9th – 18th Nov’23, we traveled to India for 10 days to celebrate Diwali festival. We visited Delhi, Dehradun, and Rishikesh.
My Delhi travel experience in 2023 was an exciting mix of history, culture, and food. From visiting iconic monuments to tasting Delhi’s famous street food, this trip gave me a deeper connection to India’s capital city.
